Remedy Wine Bar on Portland's North Park Blocks
With plush chairs, tall windows and an above-average bar menu, this sleek, six-month-old wine bar already feels at home on the Pearl District’s southeastern fringe.
The Chow: Chef Ingrid Chen’s refined menu runs the gamut from a very-Portland kale Caesar salad ($8) to a tres-Alsatian tarte flambé ($8), all pairing well with the European-leaning wine list. On a recent visit, we tried (and enjoyed) the roasted carrots ($7) glazed with honey and sprinkled with sea salt; the warm Oregon anchovies and caramelized onions draped over crostini ($6); the kale Caesar, with its tasty garlic vinaigrette and strong shaved Pecorino Sardo; and a bocadillo stuffed with prosciutto and just-melted manchego cheese ($10).
Tuesday Night Flights at Remedy Wine Bar
If you have trouble picking one wine to sip from a list of killer bottles, are on a budget and want to explore new varietals, or are intimidated by wine in general, curated flights are the indecisive drinker's dream.
These crafted selections of small pours are the perfect way to sip through several wines without racking up a major bill (or getting stuck with a full glass of something you don't love).
